Wildlife Sample Submission Training Video

Our program takes in between 1500 and 2000 wildlife cases each year. We prioritize examining animals that are likely to have infectious diseases or toxin exposures which could impact the population as a whole. Submissions come from a variety of sources including NYSDEC personnel, rehabilitators, veterinarians, law enforcement and nuisance wildlife cooperators. The background information that we request for each case plays an important role in our data analysis and interpretation of how diseases and toxins affect wildlife. Submitters should call to confer about cases before submitting, and then use our online system to enter this information. Our online form feeds directly into our case database, and makes it much easier to collect and store accurate data for each case.
